Where do I stand in my Ed.D. if I am unemployed? How do I conduct research from my couch?

I am going to attempt to organize my thoughts. I haven't even started "officially" working on my EdD and already I have information overload. I've joined professional organizations, LinkedIn groups, list servs, and started on a reading list. I have no idea what I have read, what I am following and who had what brilliant idea I wanted to follow-up on. This blog is an effort to keep my thoughts organized and coherent. I am hoping that days, weeks or even years from now I will be able to reference this blog and understand myself.
